FIS Journalist Award to Sophie Allard

Sainte-Adèle, Québec, January 26, 2008 – Sophie Allard of La Presse was presented with the International Ski Federation’s (FIS) Journalist Award at the Canada Post Freestyle Grand Prix today at Ski Mont Gabriel.

Awarded by FIS Freestyle Coordinator Joe Fitzgerald and Canadian Freestyle Ski Association CEO Peter Judge, who was representing the Canadian Snowsports Association, the award honours outstanding contribution to coverage of athletes competing in international ski and snowboard competitions.

“Sophie has been a real professional covering our sports over the past few years,” said Freestyle’s Judge. “She spends the time to get the story and all our athletes’ truly respect her. I’d just like to add my personal thanks and congratulations and to say that all the disciplines of the CSA wholeheartedly supported her nomination for the award to FIS.”
