West Vancouver, BC, February 5, 2008 – The FIS Freestyle
World Cup arrives in Vancouver this week for the Canada Post
Freestyle Grand Prix, presented by Ernst & Young.
More than 130 athletes from 17 countries will be competing
on brand new courses at Cypress Mountain that will also be
the venues for the freestyle skiing events at the Vancouver
2010 Olympic Winter Games.
“This is really exciting,” said 2007 World Champion
mogul skier Kristi Richards of the Canadian team. “All
the teams are buzzing about getting onto these courses and
when we were here in January for a training camp, we realized
what awesome sites these are – the courses are tough
but fair – it’s going to be a great competition.”
Training at Cypress will start on Wednesday, February 6th
and there is a full slate of competition and entertainment
through the weekend.
