AERIALS TEAM

    DENNIS CAPICIK
    World Cup Team – Coach

  • Seventh year as National Team coach.
  • Former World Cup Aerials team athlete with Canada.
  • Best competitive result (World Cup): fourth place at
    Blackcomb, 1998.
  • Ranked 3rd at Nationals at Le Relais in 1997, and 12th
    in the world in Aerials in 1997-98.
DANIEL MURPHY
World Cup Team – Coach

  • Member of the Canadian National Team program for 8 years.
  • Sixth year coaching high performance athletes (he was
    previously coaching the Australian team).
  • Part of the Australian Olympic team at the 2006 Winter
    Games where the team won a bronze medal.
NICOLAS FONTAINE
Development Team – Head Coach

  • Four-time World Cup Aerial champion.
  • 1997 World Aerial champion.
  • Has been instrumental in the construction of a world-class
    water ramp facility, Centre National d’Entraînement
    Yves LaRoche in Lac Beauport, Quebec.
CAROLINE FRANC
Development Team – Coach

  • First season coaching with the National team.
  • Spent nine years as a trampoline, physical preparation
    and flexibility coach at the National circus school of Montreal.
  • 1990 Canadian Junior National champion in trampoline.
  • In 1992, toured with Cirque du Soleil in Japan as an
    aerial acrobat.
MIHA GALE
Development Team – Coach

  • First season coaching with the National team.
  • Spent twelve years with the Slovenian National freestyle
    ski team.
  • Three-time Olympian.
  • Europa Cup Grand Prix Winner in 2002.
JONATHAN PELLETIER-OUELLET
Strength and Conditioning – Assistant Coach

  • First season working full-time with the team.
  • Has a degree in Kinesiology from Laval University (May
    2007).
  • Is currently finishing a degree in Physiotherapy from
    Laval University (2008).

 

MOGULS TEAM

ROB KOBER
Men’s Mogul Program – Head Coach

  • Seventh year with the Canadian National team program.
  • Bachelor of Physical Education, University of Calgary.
  • Diploma in Coaching and level 4 certification, NCI-Victoria.
  • Former BC team head coach.
  • Has been involved with Freestyle as an athlete, coach,
    volunteer and official since 1983.
MICHEL HAMELIN
Men’s Mogul Program – Development Team Coach

  • Eighth season coaching with the CFSA.
  • National Moguls Development team member from 1993 to
    1997.
  • NCCP Level III certification.
  • Highlights of his athletic career include placing third
    in a NorAm competition and fourth at Nationals in 1996.

STEPHEN FEARING
Women’s Mogul Program – Head Coach

  • Has coached for the Canadian Ski team, Japanese Ski team,
    Japan Olympic committee, and Korean Ski Association.
  • Member of the US Freestyle Ski Team from 1986 to 1992.
  • Head Mogul Development Coach, CFSA 1992 to 1994.
  • Chief Mogul Coach, Japan Ski Association 1994 to 2002.
  • 1998 and 2002 Olympic Coach, Japan Olympic Committee:
    Team members achieved a Gold medal 1998 and Bronze medal
    in 2002.
  • Chief Mogul Coach, Korean Ski Association (2002-2003):
    Oversaw training and competition of first members competing
    in FIS World Cup competitions.
JIM SCHIMAN
Women’s Mogul Program – Development Team Coach

  • Third year coaching with the CFSA.
  • Multiple World Cup medallist including a gold at the
    Fernie, BC World Cup in 2004.
  • National Team member from 1994 to 2006.
DARCY DOWNS
Mogul Program – Air Coach

  • Former World Champion in Freestyle Combined with Canada.
  • US team aerials coach 2000 to 2006.
  • US Olympic team aerials coach 2002 and 2006.
  • 1997 overall World Cup champion.
  • 1997 World champion – combined.
  • 1995 World Championships silver medallist – combined.
  • Canadian national team member from 1992 to 1998.
