Freestyle World Cup continues in Switzerland
and Sweden
Vancouver, BC, March 4, 2008 – The FIS Freestyle World
Cup continues this week with moguls and dual mogul action
in Are, Sweden on March 7th and 8th; and with the Aerials
World Cup Final in Davos, Switzerland on March 7th.

Steve Omischl |
Kelowna, BC resident Steve Omischl clinched the 2007/2008
aerials World Cup crown last weekend in front of 35,000 spectators
in Moscow, Russia. Omischl has had a spectacular year winning
five of the eight events and finishing off the podium only
once. His wins included both Canadian stops on the World Cup
circuit – the Canada Post Freestyle Grand Prix’s
at Ski Mont Gabriel and Cypress Mountain.
In Sweden, Canadian mogul skiers will be continuing their
efforts to chase down the World Cup leaders (Dale Begg-Smith
of Australia and Aiko Uemura of Japan). Both Alex Bilodeau
and Vincent Marquis (currently third and fourth in the standings)
are in the thick of the race; and in women’s moguls
2007 World Champion Kristi Richards still has a chance with
three races to go.
Canadian team members competing this weekend are:
In Aerials:
Warren Shouldice and Steve Omischl
In Moguls and Dual Moguls:
Kristi Richards, Sylvia Kerfoot, Nathalie Bazin, Audrey Robichaud,
Chloé Dufour-Lapointe, Maxime Dufour-Lapointe, Jackie
Brown, Pierre-Alexandre Rousseau, Renaud Jacques-Dagenais,
Warren Tanner, Vincent Marquis and Alex Bilodeau
